Could you summarise the history of the firm?
King Stubb and Kasiva was established under the exemplary leadership of Mr. Jidesh Kumar, (Managing Partner), and Mr. Rajesh Sivaswamy (Senior Partner). Jidesh is the visionary founder, who, in 2005, along with his classmate Mr Rajesh took a leap of faith in themselves and started King Stubb & Kasiva (“KSK”). The early 21st century for first-generation lawyers meant scanty exposure, lesser scope of networking and so on. However, none of these deterred them from embarking upon this journey together.
Today, KSK is a full-service law firm in India, with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Pune & Milan (Italy), with 120+ professionals. We, inter alia, assist multinational companies, banks, private equity and venture capital funds, and financial institutions in India. How do you define a successful result?
A successful result for a lawyer always means gaining their client’s trust and satisfaction. This almost never refers to the commercial aspects of an engagement. It is often in the form of the increased scope of work and engagement than what was initially discussed; an urgent opinion delivered well before the time that saved their money being invested in the wrong project and so on.
For us, a successful result means, when a client that initially engaged with the firm for a limited scope of work, extends it, within months after the first interaction with the team.

Our team building/ motivation events are always surrounding the idea of understanding team spirit, and we focus on working towards improving it constantly. Activities such as these are conducted during our weekly mental-health breaks, and also during the yearly team-building trips.
What does it take to go from being a good lawyer to an excellent lawyer?
Any successful lawyer would say that consistency and hard work are what go a long way, however, we strongly believe health is wealth, with specific emphasis on mental well-being; we believe our success is a direct consequence to the values and culture we try to cultivate within our work space.
