Mourant completes expansion into Luxembourg

Professional services firm, Mourant, has confirmed the completion of its expansion into Luxembourg, with law firm, LexField, and governance services business, FideField, joining Mourant’s global network. Both businesses will in time transition to the Mourant brand.

LexField is a boutique corporate and tax practice, specialising in private equity, investment funds, M&A, Banking & Finance and private wealth. It is headed up by Partners, Pierre-Yves Magerotte and Aldric Grosjean, who are recognised as leading lawyers in the market. LexField will operate as an independent Luxembourg law firm within the Mourant network.

FideField provides entity management services to corporate and financial services clients. The leadership team comprises Melina Howard (Head of Operations), Nicolas Poncelet (Head of Accounting) and Yeliz Bozkir (Head of Legal and Compliance).

The expansion enables Mourant to provide clients with legal, corporate and entity management services from Luxembourg, one of the world’s leading international finance centres and the second largest global funds centre.  Mourant has ambitious plans to attract top talent to support the further growth and development of both Luxembourg teams.

This development is aligned with Mourant’s expansive multi-disciplinary growth strategy. It follows the acquisition of a specialist accounting business in January 2022 and the launch of Mourant Consulting in 2021.

Mourant Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, commented:

“I am delighted to confirm the completion of our Luxembourg expansion, which marks an important milestone in our firm’s growth and development.  The business combination is one of aligned approaches, culture and values, that will deliver significant benefits to our clients in the areas that matter most.”

LexField Partners, Pierre-Yves Magerotte and Aldric Grosjean, remarked:

“It is an exciting time for the firm.  Combining our knowledge of the Luxembourg market with Mourant’s experience across key international finance centres provides an enhanced service range for our clients, as well as new opportunities for our people to develop and grow”.

FideField Director, Melina Howard, noted:

“Mourant shares our goal of providing top quality governance expertise. The completion of this merger is a very welcome step and will play a big part in accelerating the development of our offerings for clients and intermediaries.”

The expansion takes Mourant’s overall headcount to over 700, operating from eight offices spanning all major time zones.
