PLG Meetings in Lyon and the 2022 Firms of the Year

Around 100 PLG lawyers from around the world met in Lyon from the 9th to 12th March in Lyon at the Intercontinental Hôtel Dieu for meetings hosted by Lamy Lexel, our member firm based in Lyon.

We kicked off with very productive and interesting presentations from Business France and from clients of Lamy Lexel followed by the opportunity for their clients to meet with our lawyers in person. Some meetings were to introduce the clients to our members for the first time, and others involved face to face meetings with long-standing PLG clients. This session was followed by meetings of our Mutual Interest Groups covering subjects such as IP & Tech, Corporate Law, Employment Law, Tax Law and Dispute Resolution.

Our younger lawyers also enjoyed a treasure hunt around the beautiful “Vieille Ville”, the old centre of Lyon.

We warmly thank the entire team at Lamy Lexel for their organisation of these meetings.

It was also the opportunity to award the PLG Firm of the Year awards, which had been on a break during the Pandemic. These awards are in two categories: Transactions and Dispute Resolution.

The winner of 2022 Firm of the Year for Transactions is Lamy Lexel. Aurélie Dantzikian says: “It is a great pleasure for Lamy Lexel to have been awarded as “best law firm” in the transaction category.

“We enjoy working with the many partners of the PLG with relationships based on trust, and are very proud to claim that we belong to an international network of attorneys.

“With PLG, the past few years were a mix of “giving” / receiving”: coordinating multi territories due diligences, assisting in external growth with the purchase of group companies, setting up Joint ventures, turning small branches into real local operative subsidiaries abroad, Tax and labor law cross boarder cooperation, data compliance issues…

“Thanks to all PLG members, we are quite confident that we will continue on this road!

The winner of 2022 Firm of the Year for Dispute Resolution is Pannone Corporate. Paul Jonson, Senior Partner, said: “We are proud to be long-standing members of PLG. We and our clients have worked with the member firms for many years. The network’s approach to quality and client service matches our own ethos. We are delighted to be recognised for our contribution to the network in the field of Dispute Resolution.”
